The Golden Hours, Oil on Canvas 193 x 120 cm.
When I painted this large landscape composition, I was very much influence by the old masters of the renaissance. This typical landscape tinted under the special orange light at the end of the day needed an element at the foreground to enhance the effect of perspective. Fabric has been used extensively in the classic style and it has a special way of catching the light and creating a sense of movement similar to the human body where it is often associated.
